The Botanic Reservation Movila of Burcel
The Botanic Reservation Movila of Burcel is situated on the North-West of Miclesti, close to the road that connects the cities Vaslui and Iasi, its surface being 12 hectares. The Hill Movila lui Burcel has an accidental relief, characterized by many types of erosion. Because of the vegetation, the terrain is partially stabilized. The extracting of significant quantities of sand stone, the intense grassing had as result a more accentuated destroying of the grass.
By declaring this surface a Botanic Reservation it was desired to remove the negative effects caused by the human activities, so that nowadays the main objective of the reservation is conserving the numerous rare species. Among the rare plants can be remembered: ruscuta, yellow ai, wild ai, zvacusta, cosaci, sipica, vinetele, tartan, siminoc, etc.
Every year, starting with the 21st of May, on the Burcel Movila there is a folkloric festival, with bands and interprets from many counties and sometimes from Republica Moldova.
Close to the reservation there is the St Emperors Constantin and Elena monastery, founded in 1996 and constitutes a tourist attraction of the area.
