The National Park Cheile Nerei-Beuşniţa

The National Park Cheile Nerei-Beusnita was founded in 1990, being a Protected National Area, categorized by IUCN in the second class, National Park. In 1943 the forests from Beusnita Valley and Nera were protected, having as an objective the Beusnita waterfalls, following that in 1973 to become protected and the mountains of the Rol Hill, in 1982 there were created other protected areas where the Silivic working was prohibited, and as it was mentioned, in 1990 there is configured The National Park Cheile Nerei from Beusnita.

The National Park Domogled-Valea Cernei

The park was founded in 1990, being situated at the South-West of the country, and lies on the surface of the counties Caras-Severin, Mehednti and Gorj. Geographically, the National Park lies over the Cerna river, from the source to the confluence with the Belareca river, over the mountains Godeanu and Cerna Mountains, Valcani Mountains and Mehedinti Mountains on the versant from the left. Here there are different types of landscapes: calcareous abrupt, canyons with fast rivers, calcareous summits, alpine golf, accumulation lakes, keys and abysses, thermal caves, unique in Romania, thermo mineral waters.

The National Park Rodna Mountains

The importance of the National Park has to do with the geology and the geo-morphology of the mountains, as well as with numerous species of flora and fauna, endemic and glacier relicts. In 1990 it was declared National Park because of the intention of the Minister of Waters, Forests and the Enviromental Protection to found 13 National Parks among which we also remember The National Park Rodna, which is the widest protected area from Norther Occidental Carpati, having a surface of 46.339 hectares.

The National Apuseni Park is situated in the Central-North-Western side of the Apuseni Mountain, lies on a part of the massive Bihor on the South and Vladeasa on North, on the territories of the counties Cluj, Bihor and Alba. On the territory of the park there are 53 towns and 3 fun fairs (Boga, Fantanele and Vartop). The highest top of the Apuseni Mountains is Curcubata Mare, also known as Varful Bihor (1849m). The relief is karst, having caves, keys, and defiles. Around the Apuseni Mountains there are over 400 caves.

The National Park Bucegi is situated in the Eastern part of the Meridional Carpati and here it is situated the Bucegi massive. The main node is Omu Top that has 2505 meters, corresponding to an area that has in its mass cristaline rock blocks and limestones. From that top there are 2 relief lines: the Eastersn tops delimitate the Prahovean Valley (Costila, Caraiman, Jepii Mici, Jepii Mari, Piatra Arsa, Furnica, varful de Dor and Vanturis) and the ones from the West- The Branean Valley (Doamnele, Tataru, Lucaila).

The National Park Calimani

The National Park Calimani lies on a surface of 24041 hectares, being situated in the Northern Oriental Carpathians, on the massive having the same name. The Vatra Dornei resort is the most important point for the tourists who visit this area. The main characteristic of the relief is given by the massive presence of the eruptive rocks that creat a wonderful landscape. These mountains are volcanic, formed as a result of two major eruptions. On the territory of the park there is the biggest volcanic crater from the country, which has a diameter of 10 kilometers.

The National Park Ceahlau is situated in Ceahlau Mountains, the most imposing mountain from the Oriental Carpathians. The National Park lies on a surface of 7742,5 hectares. It is the newest reservation, having been founded in 2004. Among the objectives of the park it is the intention of developing the tourist activity as part of the conservational objective of the patrimony and with territorial projects of economical development, promoting the traditional activity, informing the public and the local communities about the economical, cultural and spiritual advantages.

The National Park Cheile Bicazului-Hasmas

The National Park Cheile Bicazului-Hasmas lies on the counties Harghita and Neamt, being located in Hasmas Mountains, situated in the central group of Oriental Carpathians. The most important tourist attractions of the national park are: Lacul Rosu resort, a mountain climacteric resort, very appreciated by the tourists, the observation points: Suhardul Mic, Ghilcos Massive, Bicazului Keys, having a length of 5 km, being the most impressing from the country, Avenul Licas, situated on the Northern extremity of the park, The Sugaului Keys, The Duruitoare Keys, The Bicajelului Keys, The Hasmasul Mare Top, that has 1792 meters; Piatra Singuratica_Hasmasul Mare; Poiana Alba- Hasmasul Mare, from where you can continue on any trace to the main tourist attractions from the area.

 
The National Park Cozia

The National Park Cozia

The National Park Cozia is situated in the Central-Southern part of the Meridional Carpathians. The borders of the park are over the Eastern part of the Capatanii Mountains, over the Massive Cozia and the South-Eastern side of the Lotrului Mountains. The Park has a surface of 17100 hectares and it is situated entirely in the Valcea county. Although the park lies on 3 different mountains, it has a quite homogenized geological structure, there are cristaline formations in the North, and in the South there are sedimentary. The area is quite abrupt, accidental relief, which makes the aspect of the Oltului Valley to be a spectacular one.

 
The National Park Piatra Craiului

The National Park Piatra Craiului

The National Park Piatra Craiului in Meridional Carpathians, here there are Piatra Craiului and Rucar-Bran and Rucar-Zarnesti. The park lies on the territory of the counties Brasov and Arges, including the towns Zarnesti, Moeciu, Magura, Pestera, Bran, Rucar and Dambovicioara. The total surface of the park is 14 773 hectares. Because of the existence of rare species such as Dianthus Dianthus callizonus, Hesperis nivea, Minuatia transilvanica, Leontopodium alpinum, Piatra Craiului had became natural reservation since 1938, when there were protected only 440 hectares, following that in 1972 the protected area to increase to 900 hectares.
