The Károlyi castle from Abrud
The Károlyi castle from Abrud, Satu Mare county, was built in 1630 by the Hungarian noble Károlyi Sándor in the place of a fortress. The polygonal fortress with corner bastions was built in 1418 by Bartolomeu Dragfi of Transylvania. Nowadays it’s left only one of the towers, rebuilt in 1896 in neogothic style.
