Turcoaia town is situated in the Norhern-East Tulcea, on the right shore of Danube. The relief of Turcoaia is vaired, with beautiful valleys, forests and hills, a relaxing and spectacular landscape, a lovely place for an unforgettable holiday.

In the area of the town there had been discovered the ruins of a roman settlement, that has became archeological reservation. The settlement was called Troesmis and had been built on an area where there had been before an important traco-getic citadel from the 4th century before Christ. After the wars, the settlement  became a very important strategical point.

Besides this archeological sit, tourists can visit The Memorial Museum Panait Cerna, situated at about 15 km from Turcoaia, the Traian lakie, Macin Mountains, The Big Island of Braila and many other beautiful places.
