The Teleki Castle from Pribileşti

The Teleki Castle from Pribilesti, Maramures county, was built in the 18th century. The domain was donated in the second half of the 17th century, by the Apaffy Mihály principle to Teleki Mihály as a reward for the taking part on the wars with the ottomans. Teleki Géza, made another floor in 1987 and modernized it in the eclectic style. Teleki, who was an intern minister of Hungary, used the castle as a Summer residence.

The last owner of the castle was Teleki Pál, the last prime-minister of Hungary, and starting from 1949 it was nationalized and used as: bar, cinema hall, cereals deposit.

The Minister of the Culture and Cults renovated the roof in 1988.

The castle was claimed and bought by an English successor of the Teleki family in 2007 having the purpose to renovate it and rebuilt the architecture of the old domain Teleki.
