The Natural Reservation Stiucii Lake
The Stiucii Lake Reservation is situated close to the Bontului Valley, an affluent of Fizes, between Fizesu Gherlii and Sic, situated in Cluj County. The lake is part of the Campia Transilvania pool, situated in the Fizesului Valley, affluent of the Somesul Mic and represents a miniature delta where many kinds of migrating birds stop for food.
The lake formed on the place of an old salt exploitation, but the water is fresh because of the organic sediments, the do not allow the contact between the salt and the water. It is the deepest natural lake from the country, the depth reaching 10 m, also being the only lake from Campia Transilvaniei.

The Lake is known because of the significant population of pikes, from where its name comes. On the territory of the reservation birds sightseeing, road tripings, fishing and camping are allowed.
Close to it there is the Nicula Monastery, an Orthodox Monastery of Monks, an important pilgrimage area. The Monastery is famous because of the icon of St. Mary, that wept for several weeks 300 years ago.
