The

The Cernovici Castle from Macea, Arad County, was built on the first half of the 19th century, in a neoclassic style. It was built in 2 stages, from which resulted an “L” shaped building edifice. The first part, until the big tower, decorated on the front with the symbol of the Cernovici family and has its provenience from 1862, and the right wing, on the other side of the tower; it was built 1862 and 1866 when there were always built annexes buildings.

The castle is surrounded by a park, arranged about 100 years ago and that measures 17 hectares. The park has rare species of trees, from which we mention: Ginko Bilboa, Taxus baccata, Juglans nigra, Corila colurna. In the park there is a monument and the common grave of the generals Damjanics and Lahner by the Revolutionary Hungarian Army, executed in Arad at 6th of October 1849.

The two buildings, the annexes, the swimming pool, the garden and the park are protected.
