The Cantacuzino Castle from Busteni

The

The Cantacuzino Castle from Busteni was built in 1910, in the Romanian style, with neo-brancoveanean elements, by the prince Gheorghe Grigore Cantacuzino. The castle is surrounded by a park, which has alleys that lead to little caverns, cascades and fountains. In the guest hall there is a heraldic collection, unique in Romania, that has the stems of all the lordly families and that are relatives of the Cantacuzino family and the natural-size paintings of the Cantacuzino’s predecessors.

As architectonic elements there are remarked the loggia of the western wing, having arcades and ornamented columns, the monumental stairs, the vitralies and the original frescos.

Right now the castle works as a center of the Ministery Sanatorium of Interns.
