The Bethlen Castle from Banea

The Bethlen Castle from Bahnea was founded by Bethlen family that had been established here in 1441. The castle was built in the Renascent style, in 1545, by Bethlen Farkas, following that during the time to be built the Eastern and the Western wing and also the 8 sides bastion. The modifications and the new constructions made during the time give the castle a special allure, resulted from the combination of the architectonic styles: Renascent, Gothic, Romantic and Barock.

The castle was taken during the Communism and became property of the state. It was afterwards the Townhall, then as a cultural house, library and CAP deposit. In 2005 the castle was retrocede to the successors of Bethlen family, who, in 2007 donated the immobile to the Reformed Episcope from Cluj.
