The National Park Cheile Nerei-Beuşniţa
The National Park Cheile Nerei-Beusnita was founded in 1990, being a Protected National Area, categorized by IUCN in the second class, National Park. In 1943 the forests from Beusnita Valley and Nera were protected, having as an objective the Beusnita waterfalls, following that in 1973 to become protected and the mountains of the Rol Hill, in 1982 there were created other protected areas where the Silivic working was prohibited, and as it was mentioned, in 1990 there is configured The National Park Cheile Nerei from Beusnita.
The National Park Cheile-Nerei-Beusnita is situated in the South-Western border of the country, in Southern Anina Mountains, from Caras-Severin County. To this park belong Cheile Nerei, a karst area on the middle branch of Nera river and the Beu river, including The Dracului Lake, the Beusnita waterfalls, the Ochiul Beului lake and the Susara Waterfall, the main tourist attractions of the area.
Here it is practiced eco-tourism and the road trips on marked roads, rafting on the Nera river (in Spring and at the beginning of Summer), climbing on the marked directions, cycling on the arranged ways, speleology in the caves from the area.
The main routes are: Șopotu Nou-Cheile Nerei-Sasca Română; Sasca Română-Podul Bei-Lacul Ochiu Bei- Anina; Lacul Ochiul Beiului-Beușnița; Sasca Montană-Cascada Șușara-Cheile Nerei(Lacul Dracului); Cheile Nerei-Vârful Habâtului-Izvorul Tișului(Tisei); Cheile Nerei-Poiana Meliugului-Izvorul Tișului; Cheile Nerei-Sat Stancilova; Lăpușnicu Mare-Poiana Roșchi-Cabana Cerbu; Lăpușnicu Mare-Poiana Roșchi-Vârful Leordiș-Poiana Florii-Pod Păuleasca; the camping Miniș-Pod Păuleasca-Beiul Sec.
Because of the many possibilities of spending your free time this area is appreciated by many tourists, who come here to enjoy the beauty of the landscape or to spend their holiday in an active way.
