Numbeo is the largest online database on travel costs worldwide. For two years Numbeo made four rankings of cities, according to cheap hotels and average prices and costs to be borne tourist daily average budget and a minimal budget (so-called "backpacker", traveling with backpack back).
The four rankings are determined based on an index calculated by reference to the city of New York, a city that is 100%. In addition, most cities are offered and the cost of a day trip to medium and backpacker.
Specifically, the cost index calculation takes into account the prices backpacking trip in the cities concerned, compared with the same prices in New York.
Prices considered are:
Minimum cost of a night at an one or two star hotel
A meal at a fast food MacDonalds or similar
A meal at a cheap restaurant
A bottle of Coca-Cola or Pepsi

A beer
Four tickets for a trip on public transport
Taking into account all these prices, Cluj-Napoca ranks 51 of 166 cities evaluated, where 1 is the cheapest place for backpacker city (Cebu, Philippines) and the number 166, the most expensive (Ashdod, Israel) .
