The Sentiel Citadel represented an important defending point, being situated outside of the Citadel of Brasov. Nowadays it is said the name of Dealul Cetatii. It was built at the beginning of the 15^th century, first having only a watching tower, completed in 1524 with a wooden bastion with 4 towers. The bastion was destroyed in 1529 by the army of Petru Rares and in 1544 on the place of the old bastion there were built stone walls and there were dug ditches Because of a fire produced in 1618 the citadel was seriously damaged, following that in 1625 to be rebuilt almost entirely and in 1630 it was fortified with 4 bastions.

In the 17^th century it loses its importance and becomes a deposit, then it worked as a barrack and from the 18^th century until 1954 it served as a prison. From 1981, as a result of the restoration, it became a medieval tourist complex .
