The Lázár Castle from Lazarea

Lazarea Castle from Harghita county was built by Lazar family, serving to them as a residence. The oldest lived tower dates from 1450. The castle was decorated with 4 corner-towers, 3 of them having a regular quadrate shape, and the North-Western one has 7 corners. The walls of the bastions are ornate in the Renascent style, being observed the traces of the mural paintings. The inscription “Cristus Maria 1532”, written with gothic letters, shows that by those time there were made reconstructions on the castle.

The Mikes-Szentkereszty Castle from Zagon, Covasna county, was built in 1632 and suffered many reconstructions during the 17th and 20th century. The castle is situated in the centre of the commune and hosts now the Culture House of Zagon. The ex owner of the castle, Mikes Kelemen is considered the parent of the Hungarian belletristic; in his memory there was built a monument in the park having his name, as well as the cultural house and the castle from the town. In the castle there are saloons built in the memory of the historian Csutak Vilmos, born in Papauti village and in the memory of the actress Kiss Manyi, who also spent her childhood in that village. The actress had a wonderful career, being nominated on the “Kossuth” and “Jászai ” awards.

The edifice was restaurated in 1964, becoming one of the best kept architectural monuments from the county. The castle was also called Trianona because of its beauty. In front of the castle there was built a fountain with the statue of a deer, following the trends of arranging the castles by that time in France

The Magna Curia Castle (Big Court) or the Bethlen castle, is situated in Deva, near the park of the town, being the oldest building declared hystoric monument, kept in Deva. Geszty Ferenc was the one who founded the actual castle, building in 1582 a holliday camp, following to be used as a residence by many personalities from Ardeal: Báthory Zsigmond, Bocskay István, Báthory Gábor and Bethlen Gábor.

The edifice was designed in the neoclassic style, like the other castles and mannors from those times, being surrounded by a beautiful park, having rare species of trees.

He was the Supreme Committee of Hunedoara for 15 years. The castle was used by the family more as a holiday or haunting house, because the residence of the family was in Silvasu de Sus.
