Lazarea Castle from Harghita county was built by Lazar family, serving to them as a residence. The oldest lived tower dates from 1450. The castle was decorated with 4 corner-towers, 3 of them having a regular quadrate shape, and the North-Western one has 7 corners. The walls of the bastions are ornate in the Renascent style, being observed the traces of the mural paintings. The inscription “Cristus Maria 1532”, written with gothic letters, shows that by those time there were made reconstructions on the castle.

The Mikes Castle from Zabala, Covasna county, is situated in a beautiful forest from the foothills of Vrancea Mountains, at about 7 km away from Covasna. The castle was built in the 16^th century and nowadays is a hotel called Zabola Estate, being an ideal place for spending your free time in a pleasant atmosphere, far from the agglomeration of the towns. The edifice retroceeded few years ago to the successors of Count Mikes, Gregor and Alexander Roy Chowghury, attracts more and more foreign tourists, being presented as a dream location by many publications and television programs from abroad.

The Mikes-Szentkereszty Castle from Zagon, Covasna county, was built in 1632 and suffered many reconstructions during the 17^th and 20^th century. The castle is situated in the centre of the commune and hosts now the Culture House of Zagon. The ex owner of the castle, Mikes Kelemen is considered the parent of the Hungarian belletristic; in his memory there was built a monument in the park having his name, as well as the cultural house and the castle from the town. In the castle there are saloons built in the memory of the historian Csutak Vilmos, born in Papauti village and in the memory of the actress Kiss Manyi, who also spent her childhood in that village. The actress had a wonderful career, being nominated on the “Kossuth” and “Jászai ” awards.

The Misici castle from Lipova, Arad county, is nowadays a Museum. The interior of the edifice is very elegantly decorated, there is decorated floor made of wood, the mirrors, the paintings and the old objects look very well combined to the big candelabrums, with crystals, the terracotta, and the golden decorations from the wall.

The Mocioni Castle from Bulci, Arad county, is located near the town, near the Mures river. It was built in the first half of the 19^th century, having its actual shape in 1860. The Castle was built by the Baron Fechtig-Fechtenberg and became possession of Mocioni family in 1858.

The Mocioni-Teleki Castle Castle from Capalnas, Arad county, was built in 1860, by architects and Italian handymen and was named after the last member of the Mocioni family, who married count Teleki Jenő. The edifice was restaurated in 1964, becoming one of the best kept architectural monuments from the county. The castle was also called Trianona because of its beauty. In front of the castle there was built a fountain with the statue of a deer, following the trends of arranging the castles by that time in France

The Magna Curia Castle (Big Court) or the Bethlen castle, is situated in Deva, near the park of the town, being the oldest building declared hystoric monument, kept in Deva. Geszty Ferenc was the one who founded the actual castle, building in 1582 a holliday camp, following to be used as a residence by many personalities from Ardeal: Báthory Zsigmond, Bocskay István, Báthory Gábor and Bethlen Gábor.

The Nákó Castle from Sannicolau Mare, Timis county, was built in 1864, by the count Nákó Kálmán, being used as a family residence in this part of the Austrian-Hungarian Empire. The Nákó family took the possession of the domain where the castle was built with the help of Nákó Kristóf and Nákó Cziril, who bought the Sannicolau domain in 1781. The edifice was designed in the neoclassic style, like the other castles and mannors from those times, being surrounded by a beautiful park, having rare species of trees.

The Nemes Castle from Budila, was built around 1730, by Nemes. The Nemes castle is situated close to the Béldy László Castle, situated in the same town, which works as a Town Hall. Budila is famous because of the fact that is the only the town from the country where there are 4 castles.

The Nopcsa from Zam, Hunedoara county, was the property of the Romanian family Nopcea. The most known member of the family was Vasile Nopcea, whose name appeared in the documents as Nopcsa László. He was the Supreme Committee of Hunedoara for 15 years. The castle was used by the family more as a holiday or haunting house, because the residence of the family was in Silvasu de Sus.
