Sovata resort is situated on Ghiurghiului Mountains on an altitude of 475-600 m, being popular because of its salted lakes, from which the most important is Ursu lake.

On an altitude of 1200 m, there is a trail with 2 tracks, each of them having a lenth of 1100 meters, with a level difference of 350 m, having a lift with 121 sits, suplimentary trail for beginners, length of 200m. with a level difference of 30 m, having a schilift on a length of 300m, for organized groups there is carriage from the Alunis Hotel to the lift.
