The National Park Semenic- Cheile Carasului
The National Park Semenic-Cheile Carasului is situated in th Caras-Severin county and has precious natural elements from Semenic Mounains and Anina Mountains. In the area of the National Park there are 8 natural reservations, constituted in special conservation strictly protected areas. The 8 conservation areas are: Carasului Keys, Nera Springs, Garlistei Keys, Carasului Spring, Buhui, Comarnic Cave, Popovat Cave, Buhui Cave. On the territory of these reservation it is prohibited any kind of exploitation or using the natural resources, areas, which are not in conformity with the protection norms.
The National Park Retezat
Retezat is the most complex and grandiose mountain massive from the Romanian Carpathians. The landscape is dominated by alpine tops over 2000 meters, there are 20 tops of this kind. The relief is the result of two big glacations, Riss and Wurm, there is remarked the existence of a strong climate modeling, that resulted in stairs (Borascu, Ses river, Gornovita). The National Park Retezat was founded in 1935 by the professor Alexandru Borza. Nowadays the park is considered natural area of national and international interest.
