The Banfy Castle from Rascruci, Bontida, Cluj county was built in the 18th century in the Eclectic style. The castle is part of the Historical Monuments of Cluj County, list that has been elaborated by the Culture and Cults Romanian Ministry in 2004. As the chronicles of the Bánffy family show the actual castle was built in 1809, on the place of a Summer residence and was lived by the baron Bánffy Ádám. The castle had been working from 1967 until 2007 as a school for children with deficiencies.

The castle is formed by two buildings (one having the bedrooms and one for the course halls) and other as an annex. The main access in the building is on Southern, on two rows of 13 stairs, disposed circulary, that lead to a terrace sustained by 8 Doric columns. In the castle there is also a wooden buffet and a glass case, which was exposed on an exhibition from Paris in the 20th century. The saloon has renascent elements, from which the most impressing are the cassettes from the deck that were sculpted in the German Renaissance style, where were engraved the important personalities of the Bánffy family, as well as the names of the most representative personalities from the history of Hungary and Transylvania. In the hall there is also a tile stove that was realized after the renascent model that is in the saloon of the emperor Franz Josef. On it there are sculpted scenes that show the choosing of the ruler Árpád, the founding of Hungary and the Council from Ópusztaszer. The three scenes designed in relief above them shows the losing of the war from Mohács in 1526.

The access on the floor is made by the stairs made of wood. Once one gets to the floor, they can admire from the balcony the entire  Bánffy domain.
